Product Overview

Copper nickel bar is machined into fittings, pump shafts and fasteners for marine and offshore equipment, offering biofouling and corrosion resistance in seawater without the density penalty of some alternative alloys.

Both 90/10 and 70/30 grades are held for machining to component drawings or standard fastener sizes.

Technical Note — Copper nickel resists biofouling by slowly releasing trace copper ions at the surface — a property that also means it should not be paired with more noble metals in seawater without galvanic isolation.
